The Adventure Begins…
Starting the historical centre of Plaka, we’ll make our way around the iconic Acropolis, uncovering its legends and significance as we approach the most picturesque neighborhood in Athens — Anafiotika. From there, we’ll journey downhill to compare the grandeur of the Greek Agora and the Roman Agora, revealing how these ancient marketplaces shaped daily life.
Next, we’ll visit two of Athens’ most important churches before reaching the beautiful Lysicrates Monument — a stunning reminder of the city’s artistic past. Our walk then leads us to one of Athens' most famous landmarks: Hadrian’s Arch, the symbolic gateway between the ancient and modern city.
No visit to Athens is complete without marveling at the colossal Temple of Zeus, and from there, we’ll wander into the elegant Zappeion, where the story of the modern Olympic Games comes to life. Soon, you’ll find yourself standing before the magnificent Panathenaic Stadium, the only stadium in the world built entirely of marble, where the Olympic spirit still lingers in the air.
But the journey doesn’t stop there! We’ll make our way to the Presidential Palace to witness the iconic Evzones — the Presidential Guards — in their traditional uniforms, a living symbol of Greek pride and heritage. As we continue through the peaceful National Gardens, the city’s green oasis, our tour will culminate at the bustling heart of Athens: Syntagma Square.
